Did you know that 14% of the world’s millllionaires are people of color?! That is exciting news. But while it is a wonderful stat many nonprofit organizations have failed to diversify their donor portfolio. Dr. Denitra Griffin the co-founder of the Always Giving Back Foundation will discuss this topic on Feburary 25, 2021 with Chronicle Philanthropy.

Racial inequality still peaks its head through when an organizations are looking for their ideal donor. They forget about the C-Suite members of the Fortune 500 companies. Nonprofit leaders often focus on white supporters, that is a costly mistake.

Hey you! Thank you for taking the first step in opening our December Newsletter. Boy, has a lot happened. We gave away 100 BIKES, the Griffins have closed out Season 3 of Secure Podcast and you still have the opportunity to make an impact!

So much has happened this year that has forced us to create new traditions. It is sponsors like AGB Innovative Security Solutions who allow us to continue helping the community.

Oh, what joy it is to spread some holiday cheer. In 2020 Auburn-Gresham has seen a 30% unemployment rate, gang warfare & the highest rate of COVID infection in both the city and state. The Always Giving Back Foundation gave away 100 bikes to families on the Southside of Chicago. Thank you to Walmart who assembled and delivered bikes to our location.  It is the smiles on the young people’s faces that made it all worth it! Take a look: https://youtu.be/n_wYesUB5YA

You Can Make an Impact

We recently started the year-round AGB Business Internship program. Youth are exposed to the value of teamwork and networking. Leaving with the understanding that the connections they make today will position them for tomorrow.

We provide a safe space for our youth to be proud of who they are. We hope to build their confidence and remove self-fear of “what if people don’t like me” or “what if people will fear me”.

Help us reach our goal of $10,000 by donating at agbfd.org/donate

Let’s Do This!

Oh, how 2020 has passed by! We have had some lows and some highs this year.

The Always Giving Back Foundation has always understood the importance of representation in the workplace. Who would have thought in this decade we would see a woman in the White House? We are super elated to see the FIRST woman, BLACK woman, INDIAN woman to serve in the seat of Vice President of the United States of America. We hope to cultivate tomorrow’s leaders who too will be the FIRST.

The AGB Business Internship has expanded from a six-week summer program to a year-round program. (See 2020 Summer Business Internship here.) This weekend 25 young people came together virtually. They left with a greater understanding of why the Griffins started the AGB Foundation. Their commitment to the community is what sets the tone for the culture of AGB Innovative Security Solutions and its charitable arm.

Community Day of Appreciation:

Reinvesting in our community is extremely important to us. Every year on our anniversary, we celebrate by paying it forward in under-served areas of Chicago. We partner with nonprofit organizations to supply one’s everyday needs through care packages and/or employment advisory through our Community Appreciation Day.

Your Family Comes First:

The AGB Foundation is dedicated to helping minority families in struggling communities improve their financial security and quality of life. Family First provides two types of critical programming: seminars for young minority professionals on a range of business and financial topics; and direct assistance to families of color who are experiencing a crisis.

Today’s Interns, Tomorrow’s CEO’s:

The AGB Foundation is working to build a legacy of young minority executives. We are giving them tools to prepare for life after college and the workforce. Meet some of our developing leaders.

Because of You They Can:

You were the solution for our scholars in 2019. Thanks to the support of individuals and businesses, we awarded $20,000+ in scholarships and provided incredible social-emotional care packages for our scholars.

Learn More About the Griffins:

The founders of AGB Investigative Services, Inc. completed Season One of Secure Podcast. Their podcast addresses the intersections of love, family, and entrepreneurship.

Summer is finally here and so are the AGB interns! Nothing feels better than giving well deserved students a chance to fulfill their dreams!

Do you recall when you  applied to your first job or prepared for your first day of college? You were a little nervous right? In the minority community there is a lack of knowledge regarding finances, life after undergrad, and how to secure your first job. The unknown causes fear. We are changing that! The Always Giving Back Foundation’s programs provide young people with their first employment opportunity and funds to advance their educational endeavors. We help them get past their fear and  prepare to excel in the workforce.

The culture of AGB Investigative Services is not only about giving but rejuvenating and restoring the minority community.  We are the philanthropic arm of AGB, so leave the door open for AGB employees to attend our Family First workshops and provide their relatives with a internship and scholarship at the end of the school year.

20% of AGB employees voluntarily donate on a biweekly bases because they believe in our mission. Their gift will progress Chicago youth past their wildest dreams. In the words of James Baldwin we want our youth to understand, their crowns have been bought and paid for. All they have to do is put it on their heads.

We are serious when we say your dollars matter! Your biweekly, monthly, or  annual devotion to our youth gives them the ability to see beyond their current circumstance. As a monthly subscriber you receive perks and special invitations. Join us in this  life changing opportunity. DONATE TODAY!
