Launch Your Professional Journey with the 2026 AGB Summer Business Internship
Your future doesn’t start after graduation. It starts this summer.
The Always Giving Back Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2026 AGB Summer Business Internship — a six-week, paid program designed to give motivated Chicago high school and college students a real foothold in the professional world. If you’re ambitious, coachable, and ready to do meaningful work, this opportunity was built for you.
Real Work. Real Mentors. Real Experience.
This isn’t a program where you sit in the back of a room and observe. Selected interns are placed with successful minority-owned and minority-operated businesses, nonprofits, and public organizations, where they take on actual assignments alongside experienced professionals. You’ll rotate through departments approximately every week, getting an inside look at how a whole organization operates — not just one corner of it. With no more than 30 hours of work per week, the schedule is built to stretch you without burning you out.
Each intern is paired with a mentor employee who will guide your training, support your growth, and evaluate your progress. The professionals you’ll work beside have built careers worth learning from. Pay attention.
A Competitive Process — and That’s the Point
The selection process is intentionally rigorous. Applicants are reviewed carefully, and those who stand out are invited to interview before final placements are made. Every answer on your application is a chance to show who you are and what you’re capable of — so bring your best writing and your most honest voice.
The standards are high because the stakes are real. The AGB Foundation is looking for young leaders who are ready to be invested in.
Why AGB?
The AGB Foundation exists to disrupt the cycle of poverty on Chicago’s South Side by opening doors that too often stay closed. Through workforce development, financial education, and community investment, AGB has served 110+ youth, provided over 18,000 hours of internship and coaching, and awarded more than $97,000 in scholarships. Every intern who comes through this program leaves more prepared, more confident, and more connected than when they arrived.
This summer, that could be you.
