2017 Annual Holiday Benefit Photo Gallery
The 2017 Holiday Benefit was a HUGE success. The evening was an opportunity for all of us to be inspired by what we can accomplish when we set our minds to it. YOU donated over $20,000 to support our Summer Business Internship and Scholarship programs. The young African American harpist created a holiday ambience for our donors, our 2017 and past program participants, our generous sponsors, community members, family, and friends. The room was anchored with a silent auction table circled with a vast amount of sports, restaurants, and Chicagoland experiences. We also raffled a 43’ inch 4K HD color tv. The testimonies of our visionary leader and program participants touched the souls of everyone present. The 2017 Holiday Benefit was definitely a night to remember.

Data on Chicago Minority Youth Support AGB Foundation Mission
The numbers are staggering–mind numbing, even, for Chicago minority youth. Forty-seven percent of young black men ages 20 to 24 are out of work and out of school.
The Great Cities Institute at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) published these findings in their Jan. 2017 report, “Abandoned in their Neighborhoods: Youth Joblessness amidst the Flight of Industry and Opportunity.”
“Depriving young people of the dignity of work leaves ‘permanent scars,’ impedes an overall sense of wellbeing, and can lead to counterproductive behaviors,” the UIC report states. Read more
What Students Can Gain from a Summer Business Internship
